Polkadoodles week 45 - Gift box

This is my entry to the Polkadoodles challenge this week - a gift box. I've been busy making advent calendars for craft fairs and i thought that it loosely fit the "Gift Box" criteria.

I made an A4 easel card and decorated with red and green papers from "Jingle Jangles" . Using a template from "Quick cards" magazine I made the little gift boxes and decorated each with ribbon or a bit of bling. As you can see I've filled each box with a miniature Cadbury Dairy Milk - very cute and extremely yummy!!!
Thanks for looking

I've been busy with a run of craft fairs, replenishing my cards and of course my "proper job" which pays the bills!! I have loads of new cards to share, i will get round to posting them. So here's my entry for the week 37 challenge at Polkadoodles - an easel card - I just love them, They are great to make and they are the one's that get the most comments at my craft fairs.
I love the simplicity of this card, The black and white polka dots matched so well with the black and white cow from "back to nature" Cd.

Get Funky August Challenge

The August challenge at Get Funky was to make a project that contained a pocket.
Following on from my male themed "Tool belt" card with the little hammer, screwdriver and saw I've been trying to come up with a female equivalent. I had fashioned an apron template at Christmas so i adapted it using papers from "Funky little Christmas" collection. I made a little trowel and fork from silver mirri. I stamped the flowers (from Polkadoodles fairy flutterfly acrylic stamp set) on the base card and also stamped some out on papers within "Funky little Christmas" and cut those out. I just thought that the papers were suited to all year round crafting and not just for Xmas!!!
Cheers

Polkadoodles week 30 "generic male and female"

I've had a busy weekend, I had a stall at the Callander Highland Games within the craft marquee. Here is my stall in all its glory!!!

It was a great weekend, I met lots of skilled crafters - jewelers, wood turners and painters. There was a few card stalls but lucky for me my stall was very different - my Polkadoodles makes stood out from the crowd and everyone loved the originality of my cards. I done quite well over the weekend, might even be lucky enough to have some repeat business.
Anyway the Polkadoodles challenge this week is generic male and female - i made an easel card using the lovely little turtle from "All around and everywhere". I just love the sentiment, it could easily apply to male or female. I couldn't resist adding a little matching glitter and glittered card candy.
When I get a chance I'll post some photos of the cards I made for the weekend.

Cheers

Wanted: Funky Hand Design Team Members

How exciting I've been away for a few months and I've come back to Funky Hand recruiting for Design Team Members. I would love to be considered, the following are cards that i think show off my style. As you will see i love using templates - its great having the freedom to have the same design in different papers I think the flopsie the rabbit card from Polkadoodles for my niece Maria shows this.

I also love developing my own templates - I was proud of the Male cards utilising the mock pockets and work tools - very retro using the Funky Fellas backing Papers.

.

and these cute farmyard animals - all my own work!!!

This card is using a free download from the Internet "Ziggy" is a fantastic dragon, i made this card for my nephew Daniel.

Get Funky July "Something New"

I cant believe that its been so long since my last blog entry - where does the time go!!!
Its all been for a good cause, I've had to pack up all my crafty bits & pieces and move them into my new craft room - YIPPEE!!!
I've also had a family wedding that I've been doing things for. I was entrusted to write out the invitations - dusting off my calligraphy skills and i also made up the favours. My brother Damien and his new wife Carol ann were married on the 10th July - it was a great day.
Its been strange not crafting and I'm glad to get back to it.
I've been making some cards for a craft fair i have next weekend - a 2 day event at the Callander Highland Games, i have a table within the craft marquee. I decided to use some of the papers i bought with my winnings from the April challenge. I've made 2 easel cards, using acetate for a bit of a difference and i also used the Baby Papers and Tags download. I added a bit of ribbon and a couple of little baby embellishments.
It's great to be back
Happy Crafting

Polkadooddles week 19 Dimension and Texture

The challenge this week at Polkadoodles is "Dimension and Texture" and also to use the fantastic freebie papers and tags. I set to work on a Fathers Day card based on the backside of a pair of Jeans. I done some matting and layering to emphasise the pockets, belt loops and belt adding some card candy which i coloured and covered with glossy accents. I managed to get the tool templates from google images, i then used all my little scraps to make them up - utilising textured card which i inked over, i also used some mirror and pearlised card which i embossed a little. I'm quite pleased with the result!

Get Funky - April Showers

Get Funky April challenge is "April showers" I kept thinking about the 4 seasons and decided to design my card around them. I used papers from "Dreams come true", I cut out the flowers from the "Just happy" collection for Summer, Winter came from "Blue Magic", Autumn from "Kidding around" and Spring from "Sticky Lemons". I added the glittery letters from my stash.

Polkadoodles - Animal Challenge

This weeks challenge on Polkadoodles is "Animal", i mulled over lots of papers i had printed out from Candy doodles, Paper boutique and back to nature and decided to make a dog house and tie it into a new house card. Trying to make life difficult i thought i would have a bash at making a round easel card - not as hard as i thought it was going to be. The animal i have included is the dog from Candy Doodles which i have modeled on my dog Molly (including her white paws), i used promarkers and white glitter and a glossy accent nose - cute!!!

Dunblane Craft Fair 7th March 2010

This is my niece Stephanie, my crafty assistant helping me out at the Dunblane craft fair on Sunday 7th March. Most of the cards on the day were made using the polkadoodles "Back to nature" cd rom which i love. I got loads of really good comments about my cards - i managed to sell most of them! It keeps the bank manager happy.

Get Funky Challenge march

This months Get Funky challenge was Girls, Girls, Girls - not being particularly girly myself I wasn't sure what I was going to attempt. I recently bought the Polkadoodles "Paper boutique" cd rom which has some fab card templates, I decided to use the star cake template.
I used the very pink range of papers "Friday night out" from Funkydaze cd rom. I embellished the card with lilac glitter, purple stars and glitter pen and some pale pink satin ribbon.
Hopefully its girly enough!!!
I have also just got the new papercraft factory "dreams come true" cd rom from Funky Hand - its fab!!! great decision to give us the choice of colour scheme/ font colour for the word books.

I've used the birdie backing paper, stampie topper and flowers from Candy Doodles and added some co-ordinating lime green/orange satin/organza ribbon, very very bright - but funky!!!

Get Funky Challenge February

I just loved the Get Funky Challenge February, "I love Crafting". I thought that i would use the opportunity to make up some little gift bags and boxes i had templates for. Firstly a big thank you to Ruth "Tip Top" for her fab gift box template (the striped bag at the rear left of the photo) i also found an abundance of templates at www.ruthannzaroff.com/mirkwooddesigns

I used Funky Hand papers from the Funky Daze CD and also a CD i got in a craft magazine before Christmas.
Excuse the footprint on the chair, I've just noticed it on the photograph!!!

Get Funky January Challenge

This is my first posting of 2010 and i thought that i would give the Get Funky January Challenge a bash. The theme this month is spots and stripes so i thought that i would use these lovely vibrant papers from the Sunday Best folder on the "Funky Daze" cd, they match the satin ribbons from create and craft perfectly.
