All of a flutter

I'm on a roll!!!

I was working on this card until the wee small hours last night - the screen is looking a little bleary! Polkadoodles week 24 - All of a flutter challenge, i wanted to do something other than a butterfly so i rummaged for ages in my crafty stash and decided to cut a create a critter bee from my cricut. I made a 2 pocket A6 card and tags and matted them with black card and the fabby yellow tartan paper from "Sundae of Seasons" adding a few yellow gems - done.

Something for Dad

Its been a while......

I thought that as i was making a Fathers Day card for my Dad, i would follow the challenge on Polkadoodles - week 23 Something for Dad.

I used the paper and sentiment from a scrummy Polkadoodle freebie download from a couple of years ago. I use these papers all the time, they are ideal for male themed cards. I was trying to come up with something different for my card topper and there it was staring me in the face - a measuring tape! I cut a long strip of paper and folded it to spell out "a d" adding a copper "D" in the shape of the measuring tape itself.

Happy Fathers Day!!!

Nieces and Nephew Birthdays

I thought that i would share the cards I've made for my nieces and nephew's birthday coming up. As they all come from the same house i had to make them all the same size - that sibling rivalry!!
First up - Luke who will be 7 in April - I took my cricut to their house and all Luke wanted to do was make Jungle animals so that's what i've done for his card. I've also trialed a waterfall element to the card - which spells out his name, I'm sure he'll enjoy playing with it.

Next Maria who will be 9, also in April - Maria loves girly things especially cute & fluffy animals so using some tiny dogs in handbag papers and cutting a very girly pink poodle and matching bag using my cricut that was the base to her card.

Next is Keira who will be 6 in May. Keira loves her toy elephant "ellie" so once again i cut an elephant using my cricut and build a card using some floral baking paper - its quite a dark card, with a hint of hot pink, I'm sure Keira will love it.

Polka doodles challenge week 11 - Books

I've been busy crafting away replenishing my card stock for this years craft fairs, so i have neglected my blog for a wee while.

I've also had a few family cards to make and i thought that the birthday card i made for my dad met the challenge at polka doodles this week.

I used the template from papercraft inspirations magazine and the fathers day papers from Polkadoodles (from last year i think?) I also made a little book/paper to cover my dozing dad!

Mini Scrapbook - papercraft inspirations

At Christmas i received a subscription to Papercraft Inspirations magazine, one of the tutorials was to make a Mini Scrapbook from one piece of 12 X 12 card. I've made a blue and lemon book for a baby boy - all that's missing is a couple of baby photos and some sentiments/notes.
The Scrapbook is a great size for keeping in your bag, it folds down to 8cm square.
I am entering this into the Allsorts week 87 challenge - Men/Boy.

Polka Doodles week 3 - There's no place like home.

I'm sorry but when i heard the phrase "There's no place like home" of course i thought of "The Wizard of Oz". So how was i going to come up with a card idea that would suit a new home card.

One of the most iconic images from the movie has to be the house landing on the wicked witch and her little legs and those red shoes poking out. So here's what I've done:

The papers are from Paper Boutique vol1 and Jingle Jangles, The house base from candy Doodles and the sentiment base also from Paper Boutique vol1. Red Mirri and Black card and card candy from my stash.

Get Funky ~ Going round in circles

When i saw the challenge this month at Get Funky was "Going round in circles" it was screaming a circle easel card. The scene was already set with the lovely freebie backing paper which I complemented with a pale skin tone glitter card. I cut the sentiment, little dog and butterfly using a co-ordinating green paper from Funky Daze cd rom - putting my newly acquired cricut to good use!! (I'm determined to make the most of my cricut)
That's 4 cards posted in a week - a minor miracle for me!!! I'm determined to keep up my crafty new years resolution.
Cheers, Siobhan
